Jane Fonda saw Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s split coming.

The “protective” 86-year-old shared her “concerns” about the romance in Lopez’s “The Greatest Love Story Never Told” documentary in 2022.

Fonda began by clarifying she “really, really, really want[ed]” the rekindled relationship to “work” and was “invested” in its success.

However, she noted, “It feels too much like you’re trying to prove something instead of just living it.

You know, every other photograph is the two of you kissing and the two of you hugging.”

Lopez, who co-starred in “Monster-in-Law” with Fonda in 2005, replied, “That’s just us living our life.”

The Grammy nominee, 55, called her friend “very protective” and worried about Lopez “putting [her]self out there to get beat up again.”

Fonda added that she got “real scared” when she saw headlines about Affleck, 52, looking “unhappy.”

Lopez laughed this worry off as well, joking about how her husband was the Internet’s “symbol of the beleaguered man.”

Fonda subsequently took her concerns to Lopez’s manager, Benny Medina — who reportedly has “bad blood” with Affleck and “can’t stand” him.

At the time, Fonda explained the importance of keeping love “sacrosanct” instead of “overly flaunting” it to the public.

The Golden Globe winner wasn’t the only one to express doubts, with Affleck doing the same while reflecting on his and Lopez’s first engagement from 2002 to 2004.

The actor admitted they were “trying to learn to compromise” on “boundaries … around the press.”

Lopez filed for divorce from her “Jersey Girl” co-star on Tuesday, the same day she married Affleck in Georgia two years prior.

The breakup was a long time coming, with Lopez listing their date of separation as April 26 — and Page Six confirming in July that they had been over for “months.”

A source recently told us that Lopez feels “furious” and “humiliated” as Affleck “was the one who initiated getting back together” in 2021.
