Richard Gere, known for his roles in iconic films like Pretty Woman and American Gigolo, is thriving in a new chapter of his life across the Atlantic.

recently shared an update on their move from Connecticut to Spain, which took place in November.
“We are happier than ever,” Gere said during a joint interview with Elle España.

The couple’s joy is closely tied to their new surroundings. Silva, a Spanish publicist and political activist, expressed her contentment at being back in her home country, which Gere wholeheartedly supports. “She is happy because she’s at home,” Gere explained. “And if she is happy, I am happy.”
The couple first met in 2014, and their bond has only deepened over the years. They are parents to two young sons, Alexander, 5, and James, 4. Gere also has a 24-year-old son, Homer, from his previous marriage to Carey Lowell, while Silva is mom to 11-year-old Albert from a prior relationship.

Gere previously expressed his excitement about the move during an appearance on The Tonight Show in November 2024, saying, “My wife is Spanish, and she gave me about seven years in the U.S., so now we’re going to spend some years in Madrid. Our kids are bilingual, so they’re going to flourish there.”
The couple has also been active on the social scene, attending events such as the ELLE for Future 2024 photo call and the premiere of Paramount+’s The Agency in New York. Their appearances reflect a balance between their public and private lives.
