Holly Willoughby, the popular television presenter and former *This Morning* host, never anticipated

that her evening at the 2024 Glastonbury Festival would end with her scrubbing a festival toilet.

However, that’s exactly what happened after the 43-year-old enjoyed the magic of Sir Elton John’s headline performance.

Holly shared the amusing yet humbling story during an appearance on *The Graham Norton Show*, where she was joined by music icon Sir Elton John.

The presenter, who was clearly thrilled by the spectacle of Elton’s performance, described the atmosphere as unforgettable.

“I was there and having the time of my life,” she recalled. “You [Elton] were incredible. Everyone knew you were going to be amazing, but honestly, it was magic.

Everyone was singing, and the crowd moved as one—it was like nothing I’d ever seen.”

However, her post-performance experience took an unexpected turn when she found herself waiting in the infamous long lines for the festival’s toilets. As anyone who’s been to Glastonbury knows, these queues can be notorious, and Holly soon faced a less-than-pleasant scenario when it was finally her turn.

“After Elton’s set, everyone moved towards the loos. The loos were chaos. It was disgusting, but when you’ve got to go, you’ve got to go,” Holly explained, laughing at the absurdity of the situation. When she entered the cubicle, she was faced with an unpleasant sight. “I was standing on the loo—you would not want to sit down—and I thought, ‘Oh my God, when I come out of here, whoever comes in next will think that was me, so I can’t leave that.’”

A woman of principle, Holly couldn’t just leave it as it was. Always prepared, she had a bag of wet wipes with her, which she used to clean the toilet until it was spotless. “I cleaned that loo until it was perfect,” she said, bringing some lightheartedness to what could have been a very awkward moment. “I was back down to earth with a bump after Elton.”

While Holly’s toilet-cleaning adventure at Glastonbury might have been a far cry from the glamorous life of a TV host, it’s clear that her candid nature and willingness to laugh at herself only endear her more to fans. The story provided a rare, relatable glimpse into her life as a mother and public figure, making it clear that no matter how famous you are, everyone has their moments of humility.

Meanwhile, Sir Elton John also reflected on his unforgettable performance at Glastonbury, which marked a monumental moment in his farewell tour. Speaking with Graham Norton, Elton admitted that he had been initially reluctant to perform at the iconic festival. “I had never been [to Glastonbury] and was resistant to playing in case I didn’t go down very well,” he said. “But I was so moved. I don’t think I have been as happy in my whole life. It was one of the greatest days of my life.”

Holly, who has been a regular at the festival in recent years, attended Glastonbury again in 2023, sharing glimpses of her time at the event on social media. From posing in a chic white dress and cowboy-style hat to enjoying the music with her husband, Dan Baldwin, she showed off her festival spirit. The couple, often seen together in rare public displays of affection, clearly share a love for music and the atmosphere that comes with the festival.

Outside of Glastonbury, Holly is stepping into a new and physically demanding role. She is set to appear on *Celebrity Bear Hunt*, a survival series filmed in the rugged jungles of Costa Rica, alongside a star-studded cast including Mel B, Shirley Ballas, and Una Healy. The show, hosted by survival expert Bear Grylls, sees contestants endure challenging tasks with eliminations that are as tense as they are grueling.

In a candid moment during her *Graham Norton* appearance, Holly confessed that filming alongside Bear Grylls had pushed her out of her comfort zone. “The magic of Bear is that he’s really convincing and inspirational. He even got me to do stuff, and I am the scariest person ever,” she admitted. Despite her fears, Holly embraced the challenges, proving her determination and willingness to face difficult situations head-on.

In many ways, Holly’s recent career shift marks a new chapter after her departure from *This Morning* in 2023. She has spoken openly about the difficulties of transitioning from the demanding early-morning TV schedule to spending more time at home with her three children, Harry, Belle, and Chester. “It’s been tough for all of us,” she shared, reflecting on the change in her life.

While Holly Willoughby may not have expected to scrub a festival toilet, her story shows that even celebrities have their down-to-earth moments. It’s her honesty, humility, and relatability that continue to resonate with fans, whether she’s enjoying the magic of a music icon’s performance or finding herself in the most unexpected of situations.
