Holly Willoughby is embracing a new chapter in her life with a renewed sense of strength and enthusiasm after a turbulent year.
The beloved TV presenter, best known for her role on *This Morning*, is stepping into the spotlight once again, this time with a new project for Netflix—*Celebrity Bear Hunt*.
As she takes on a solo hosting role for the first time since her departure from *This Morning*, Holly exudes confidence and a refreshing, fearless energy.
Having faced some deeply personal and professional challenges over the past year, including a horrifying kidnap plot against her family
and the end of her long-time partnership with co-host Phillip Schofield, Holly is finally looking forward with optimism.
While she has chosen to remain tight-lipped about what the future holds, Holly credits her good friend Bear Grylls for helping her through the rough patches.
In a recent interview, Holly shared how Bear’s friendship and wisdom helped her cope during a time of immense emotional stress.
Reflecting on what’s next for her, Holly teased a potential future with Netflix, saying with a playful grin, “All I’ve learned out of life is you never know what’s around the corner. So I’m like, one day at a time, one step at a time, just like in the jungle.” The words hint at a new adventure on the horizon, with Holly embracing the unknown with the same courage she displayed during her time in Central America for *Celebrity Bear Hunt*.
In this exciting new series, Holly teams up with Bear Grylls to lead 12 celebrities through challenging survival tasks in the jungle. Celebrities such as Mel B, Boris Becker, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, Lottie Moss, and many others are tested on their ability to survive under harsh conditions. Holly’s involvement in the project is particularly meaningful as she shares how much she learned from Bear, whom she describes as someone who, while having fear, doesn’t let it stop him from pushing forward. Holly, who is no stranger to pressure, admires this trait and strives to carry it into her own life, even if just a little bit.
“I just assumed that here was this man that had no fear,” Holly said, speaking about Bear. “And actually, he does have fear, but he doesn’t let that fear hold him back. And I thought, God, that’s brilliant. It really is something I want to try, and even if I can do it a tiny bit, then I think that will help.” Holly’s admiration for Bear is clear, and it’s this shared philosophy of resilience that she’s taking with her into the future.
As she steps away from her *This Morning* role following a difficult year, including the shocking kidnap plot orchestrated by a security guard, Holly sees this project as a fresh start. “I think when you do anything new, it feels like that,” Holly said, discussing her departure from ITV and her move to Netflix. “It’s nice to try new things and go to new places. I’ve never been to Central America before, so this just felt like the right thing to do at the right time.”
Holly’s personal life also played a role in making this new opportunity possible. With her children—Harry, 15, Belle, 13, and Chester, 10—getting older, Holly felt it was the right moment to take on an adventure like this. The three-week filming stint in Costa Rica meant time away from her family, but Holly felt confident that it was the right decision for her. “My kids are that little bit older now, so it felt like the right time that I could do it, you know, the wheels weren’t going to fall off my life if I left home,” she explained.
While Holly’s role in *Celebrity Bear Hunt* involves her hosting duties rather than taking part in the survival tasks, she was quick to downplay any potential fears about stepping into the unknown. She admitted she would have been “utterly useless” if asked to take part in the survival challenges herself, saying, “I would have been too scared, I wouldn’t have been able to do it.”
Despite her self-deprecating humor, Bear Grylls had a different take on Holly’s ability to handle pressure. He pointed out that her career in live TV has already put her through immense pressure, adding, “You come off a sort of a career of pressure. Live TV is pressure. I think you’re pretty good at that. You’d be steelier than you give yourself credit for.”
Holly Willoughby’s fearless energy and determination to face each challenge head-on have been integral to her personal and professional comeback. As she continues to embrace the unknown, fans are eager to see what her next adventure will be—one thing’s for sure: Holly will be ready to tackle whatever comes her way.
