Whoopi Goldberg was spotted looking stylish and slimmer at Paris Fashion Week on Wednesday,

showcasing her remarkable transformation as part of her ongoing weight loss journey.

The 69-year-old EGOT-winning star, whose real name is Caryn Elaine Johnson, attended the Alexandre Mattiussi fall 2025 fashion show,

where she turned heads in a chic all-black silk ensemble.

The outfit was completed with a sleek belt featuring gold loops, black-frame round eyeglasses, black boots, and a leather purse from the designer brand.

Goldberg, who has been in the spotlight for decades for her acting and outspoken views, appeared radiant and self-assured as she mingled with fellow celebrities at the prestigious event.

She was seen alongside French actor Omar Sy, and the two were captured shaking hands while the photographers snapped photos. Goldberg was also spotted with iconic French actress Catherine Deneuve, adding to the star-studded atmosphere of the evening.

This appearance in Paris comes just a couple of months after Goldberg was featured as the face of Ami’s fall/winter 2024 campaign, further solidifying her connection to the world of fashion. Ami Paris described Goldberg’s photoshoot as capturing her “essence,” noting her “contagious smile, charismatic stature, and tender glance” in the campaign. Goldberg’s appearance in the fashion campaign is just one part of her journey, as the actress has been embracing a more public role in the fashion world.

In a candid moment during her appearance on *The View* earlier this year, Goldberg opened up about the personal health choices that led to her weight loss. The Academy Award-winning star revealed that she had been using the weight loss drug Mounjaro, which helped her shed significant pounds after reaching nearly 300 pounds while working on the film *Till* in 2021. “I weighed almost 300 pounds when I made *Till*,” Goldberg shared, reflecting on her experience making the film for director Chinonye Chukwu.

She continued to emphasize how she came to terms with her body image. “When I realized how much I had put on, I always felt like me. And then I saw me and thought, ‘Oh, that’s a lot of me,'” she said, explaining the turning point when she decided to take charge of her health. While she acknowledged the challenges of her weight loss journey, she also encouraged others to stop judging people based on appearances, focusing instead on the value of self-acceptance.

Goldberg’s journey has certainly had a positive impact on her confidence. Speaking about her experience in Paris, she expressed how happy she was with her time in France. “People seem to be all right with me here, and I seem to be OK with them so far – so it’s all good,” she said, adding a light-hearted note about the cultural exchange during her trip.

Despite her newfound interest in fashion, Goldberg has a complicated history with high-end designer wear. She previously spoke out about the backlash she received for the outfit she wore to the 1993 Oscars, where she donned a green and purple bolero-like jacket and pantsuit that critics slammed. Goldberg admitted that the criticism “hurt her feelings” and caused her to shy away from dressing up for years. However, her recent foray into attending high-profile fashion events like Paris Fashion Week signals a new chapter for the veteran entertainer, embracing a more fashionable and confident version of herself.

While Goldberg’s weight loss and fashion choices have certainly made headlines, her career remains multifaceted. In addition to her fashion ventures, Goldberg is currently taking the stage in the Broadway production of *Annie*, where she portrays the character of Miss Hannigan. Her versatility as an actress continues to shine through, whether in dramatic roles or on the stage, further proving her enduring presence in the entertainment industry.

Goldberg’s appearance at Paris Fashion Week serves as a testament to her ongoing evolution, both personally and professionally. As she continues to inspire others with her journey, Goldberg’s combination of self-acceptance and bold style reminds everyone that confidence truly comes from within.
